Sicily 2023

Farm2Table Tour

Sicily for the (Adventurous) Gourmet Traveler

Our last Farm2Table tours of Tuscany were a triumph:

"Johnny Madge is such a positive intelligent multilingual guide with incredible insight and knowledge about all aspects of the farm to table process. He obviously has a passion and wealth of information that he conveyed to our group with ease."*

I know that Sicily will be one, too! Sicily makes some of the best wine, oil, cheese and food in general in the whole of Italy. It is also one of the most spectacularly beautiful areas of Italy. Our tour will take you deep into the food culture of Sicily where you meet the people who make these extraordinary and delicious products.

We will stay in a luxurious castle to begin our adventure for two nights, this will give you a chance to relax after your long journey and refresh for the week ahead. Located on the Ionian Sea, a few minutes from Taormina and has a shoreline directly on Calatabiano Beach. The grounds have magnificent gardens, which “encapsulate all the warmth and feeling of historical buildings (since 1689) with modern elegance.” We will also have ample opportunity to explore Taormina, one of the highlights of the east coast of Sicily.

We will then embark to the west and along the way stop and visit the winery in Chiaramonte Gulfi and have a fabulous lunch. We will then continue our journey and make our way over to an oil producer whose property is staggeringly beautiful where we will have cooking classes, evening meals and get to taste their extraordinary oils that they mill on the property.

"We offer a stay of well-being and tranquility in the rustic simplicity of the ancient farmhouse and in the renovated rooms of a old train station and an old winery."  -Azienda Agricola M.......

This place will be our base for visiting some of Sicily’s greatest wine producers and a unique experience visiting a goat farm where we can taste their exceptional cheeses. There will also be a visit to the ancient, Greek ruins of Agrigento.

When we leave the west and return to Catania, we will be stopping at one of the most technologically advanced and modern olive mills in the world to see just how new technology influences one of the oldest production methods in history. As we arrive in Catania we will be having lunch and visiting one of the areas premiere wineries, right on the shoulders of Mount Etna!

Just as we did in Tuscany, we want you to use all your senses, to delve into the magic of Sicily: scents of wines, oils, herbs, cheeses and the glories of Sicilian cooking; views of the incredibly varied Sicilian landscape - olive groves all around us where we will be staying in the west of the island, vineyards clinging to the shoulders of Mount Etna, Greek temples and, of course, the sea; the silence of Nature… A real vacation that will enrich your life and allow you to come away fully restored and refreshed.

“Johnny was attentive to everyone's needs and crafted a truly unique week!”

Authentic and Unforgettable

“What an absolute dream! I could not have planned a better experience on my own. I mean how many times do you get to spend a week in a former castle? And with a personal translator and guide escorting you from one location to the next? ”

 A Week in Heaven

“What a fantastic week my husband and I, along with our friends, had in Tuscany! Led by tour guide extraordinaire, Johnny Madge and his fellow guides the BEST of Tuscan food and wine.”

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart Johnny, Rudy and Tina!’
