Azienda Agricola Giacomo Grassi

Rolando and Elena Grassi, in the early 1980's, purchased the land adjacent to their home, which would be known as Azienda Agricola Grassi Rolando olive farm.

Then in 1999, as a result of combining 3 adjacent farms an area of over 62+ acres was developed to plant over 4000 trees and thus Azienda Agricola Giacomo Grassi was born.

Giacomo, with the help of his sister Debora, planted various regional cultivars of the Tuscan region; Leccino, Pendolino, Moraiolo, Frantoio, Rossellino, Olivo Blanco, Oliva Lunga, and Maurino. These species are scientifically propagated and harvested according to their own individual specifications to produce the best extra virgin olive oils for each variety.

In 2006, was another landmark year with a very important addition to the family team, as Giacomo's "significant other" Fiammetta Nizzi Grifi, a technical agronomist who specializes in the production of olive oil and, together with Giacomo, makes all the decisions concerning the care of the olive groves and the production in the oil mill.

Together not only have they collaborated in producing some of the finest extra virgin olive oils in the world but also have become the proud parents of their son, Rolandopietro (Piri).

This year there was a very limited production and the monocultivar olive oil production centered on Olivo Blanco and Moraiolo-Pdo Chianti Classico (organic).

We were extremely fortunate to be able to obtain L'Eremo Nero (organic) for our Members, which is a blend of; Frantoio, Leccino and Moraiolo cultivars.
