We first met Maria Provenza in the autumn of 2016 where we visited her mill in Battipaglia. Unfortunately, that particular harvest was poor and that part of Italy suffered from quite a bit of damage to the crop.
Her mill was "state of the art" and she spent some time with us explaing her work. However we were disappointed at that meeting because, because like so many other Producers in the area, she had very little oil to sell.
In 2017, things really improved for the harvest in Campania and we reached out to Maria again and were rewarded with obtaining two of her oils for our Membership program. DOP rEa Colline Salernitane, which is a blend of Rotondella 40%, Carpellese 30% and Frantoio 30%, and tEti, which has a different percentage of the same cultivars, ie. Rotondella 60%, Carpellese 30% and Frantoio 10%.
